Dear Fausta,
I only would like to mention that the quiz answers in July issue of Rickmanista were wrong (or misprinted) - just one example No. 2 - The air is .... Answer should be Brandon not Hans and there are some others.
My best,
Mouse
Dear Mouse,
There are many theories as to why I make mistakes like this. One could blame the computer, for instance, and it’s always easy to blame extraneous factors, such as the weather, bodily ailments, mental infirmity, family/friends/acquaintances/pets . . . but it wouldn’t be right. It’s entirely all my fault, and I apologize. Now, if Mr. Rickman’s work didn’t drive me to distraction. . .
Love,
Fausta
The answers (listed by character name, since Mr. Rickman has had the good taste of not choosing two film roles with the same name) must be:
1. George 2. Brandon; 3. Ed; 4. Elliott from QDU; 5. Elliott; 6. Jamie; 7. George; 8. Ed; 9. Rasputin; 10. Elliott; 11. Elliott; 12. Brandon; 13. Ed; 14. George; 15. George; 16. George (again!); 17. More George; 18. Eamon DeValera; 19. Elliott; 20. Ed.
Dear Fausta,
How come you haven’t posted any new recipes in months?
A foodie
Dear Foodie,
The weather’s been to good! And yes, I do blame the weather. I simply could not stay indoors coding recipes into html in such good weather.
So go outside, get a roasted chicken, bread, and some salad from the supermarket, and for dessert enjoy Fresh Peach Ice Cream, one of Beverly’s recipes. I know, I know, that’s last month picture.
My apologies to Beverly for not having posted it sooner!
Custard:
3 large egg yolks
2 cups half-and-half, or cream
1/4 cup granulated sugar
In small bowl, beat egg yolks with a fork until blended. In a small saucepan, stir 1 cup of cream and the sugar over medium heat until mixture comes to a gentle boil. Whisk about 1/2 cup of this mixture into the egg yolks, then whisk yolk mixture back into saucepan. Whisk constantly over medium-low heat 1 to 2 minutes, or until mixture looks as if it’s ready to boil. (mixture will be slightly thickened). Remove from heat immediately & stir in remaining 1 cup of cream or half and half.
Stir custard mixture into peaches until blended. Refrigerate overnight.
Freeze according to ice cream freezer maker’s instructions.
Last year Raffaella went to Lyon on vacation, and came back loaded. She sent an itemization, RAFFAELLA'S FRENCH SUITCASE:
1) 12 TROTN tapes in their beautiful plastic box
2) TROTN book, Penguin unabridged edition
3) A French video of TMD for my "foreign TMD videos" collection
4) Several Italian articles on TWG
5) The photos I made at Venice a month before: they are sheer ugly, but I decided I couldn't live without them
6) An electronic diary with all the e-mail addresses: how can you live 4 whole weeks without the net?
7) Three big breathtaking photos of Alan, but I didn't use the side pockets, I put them in a folder not to bend them.
8) A photo of Alan with my name under it: I had put that on the door of my room at the boarding-house in Lion, hoping to find some French Rickmaniac.
9) My precious autographed Rasputin photo, complete with its big heavy briar frame.
I didn't have a VCR in Lion, so I had to part from my beloved Mesmer video. It was a sad good-bye.
Would you like to know the final weight? 40 kilos. *I am serious*,
Love,
Raffaella
